                             Part 3

The Adventure North          “What’s so funny?” Izzie asked.            “Oh. You don’t know. Dragon land is a place in a kids show called Dragon Tales.” Lenna said.            Izzie and the Wiz laughed.            “Now we start our adventure north!” Wiz said and everybody started walking.            Collin had an uncountable number of questions. “So we’re in a different universe?”            “Yeah. This is an entirely different universe.” The Wiz answered.            “The note was from my dad?”            “Yes.”            “What’s the darkness thing in the prophecy about?”            “For about 20 years bad things have been happening. Things disappearing, Dragons attacking. And worst of all, people disappearing.”            Izzie stated sobbing.            “What’s wrong?” The Wiz asked.

“My mom had disappeared a few years ago” She said stopping crying.

Suddenly a blast of heat hit the kids.

“We better be careful.” The Wiz said. “This must be a heat field. There are a ton of them in the northern heat.”

After carefully stepping through the heat field they saw a large lake.

“Aren’t there any adults in this world? We haven’t seen one yet.” Collin asked.

“There are. You just were in a city ran by kids. Kivill.” Izzie said.

            Wooooooooo”

            “What was that?” Lenna wondered.

“A water dragon!” The Wiz said.

“It’s on the horizon!” Izzie said

They started running towards the dragon half under water half sticking out.

By the time they got there they were all exhausted.

The dragon said “The prophecy is coming true.”

Then an arrow nearly struck the dragon. They turned around and saw a group of archers.

Collin told the dragon “C’mon burn ‘em or something!”

            “I can’t!”

“Then I hope this works.” Collin said to himself. “Flenn three!”

And suddenly a transparent green shield appeared in front of them and reflected the arrows back at the attackers. One was killed and four were injured. The rest ran away.

“How did you…”Lena said in wonder.

“It was a spell from a book I read. I didn’t think it would work.”

“Well you’re in a different universe!” The Wiz said.

“Why couldn’t you burn them?” Collin asked the dragon.

“That is ridiculous!” The water dragon said. “I am a water dragon! We cannot breathe fire!”

Collin and Lenna were completely mystified.

“All dragons in your world must be able to breathe fire” The dragon said.

“There are no dragons in our world.” Lenna explained. “It’s just that stories in our world say that all dragons can breathe fire.”(As you can see this story is an exception)

“No dragons? That must be terrible. Ride on me.” The water dragon said. “My name is Dracos. It means dragon in the language of the ancient humans.”

Riding on the dragon was like riding on a whale except it was a dragon. More magnificent, perfect, and faster.

They got to the edge of the lake where there were about 50 water dragons.

Dracos said “I have found the four from the prophecy while adventuring into the south.

The largest dragon and the one that was probably the leader swam up and said “Dracos, you are the one from the prophecy. You may carry them north.”

“What are you names?” The dragon asked the four kids.

            “I’m Collin” “I’m Lenna” “I’m Izzie” “and I’m Mark, a.k.a. the Wiz”

“What you kids need to know is that I can only fly for two hours,” The dragon said as he took off. “Then I will need to land in water. I can survive out of water for twenty-four hours.”

Then Dracos asked “Where do we go?”

“Ummmmm… we don’t know. Lenna pointed out.

“What’s that noise?” Collin asked. “It’s really loud.”

“I don’t hear anything.” The rest of them said in unison.

“It’s coming from over there.” Collin said pointing north.

“Then we head that way.” Mark said.

Then a dragon swooped down and said “What are these humans doing here? Could they possibly be from the prophecy?”

“Yes. They are from the prophecy.” Dracos said.

“Then I must be from it too…”

“If you are a fire dragon.”

“I am. And my name is Anthidon.”

“Then you may join us. I am Dracos.” “I’m Collin” “I’m Lenna” “I’m Izzie” “I’m Mark a.k.a. the Wiz”

                                        About two hours later

It has been two hours” Dracos said. “I need to land soon.”

“Lake to the left!” Collin said “And the calling has stopped.”

“You’re calling it calling?” Mark asked.

            “Sounds like calling.”

“That reminds me of when a dragon came to the city and told more about the prophecy. Dragons are experts when it comes to prophecies if I haven’t told you already. So, the dragon told me that there would be a dragon calling, leading the way. And only the person from the prophecy would be able to hear it.” The Wiz said.

“So that is what we were supposed to follow.” Collin said.

            “Yep.”

            Dracos landed in the water.

“Get off my friends.” Dracos said.

They got off and saw a sign that said:To the Left <Food & Drinks, shelter, restroomsTo the right >Gift shop, map, snack bar, lake

“This place looks like a mall without a roof.” Lenna noticed, looking around.

“I wonder why that fire dragon was acting so clumsily.” Collin said.

Mark overheard and said “Fire dragons act like that when they’re surprised.”

“There must be fifty of these places dotted along this plain, two water dragon flying hours apart.” Izzie assumed.

“Sounds reasonable. That would be the only way to get the water dragon in water.” Mark said.

“Hey! There’s these cool dragon magnets in the gift shop.” Izzie said holding up a magnet with a very detailed drawing of a water dragon on it. No one noticed she was gone.

“I hear it again!” Collin said. “Dracos, Anthidon! You ready?”

            “Yes,” Both dragons replied.

“Let’s go ‘cause the dragon is calling” Collin said, pointing to the direction of the sound.

“We will follow the Call Of The Dragon!

                                 49 stops later

“I see a hill!” Anthidon exclaimed.

            “Another stop!” Lenna said.

Mark said, “This stop is different than the others. Look at that mansion on the left. It’s way bigger then the others and behind the hill…”

Collin was going to finish his sentence “It’s an ocean full of…”

            “WATER DRAGONS!!!” Yelled Dracos.

“And beyond that, a colossal waterfall pouring off the end of the world.” Lenna said. It was the absolutely the most incredible sight EVER.

The water dragon landed in the ocean and everybody got off. And there on the hill was an enormous sky dragon.

By his side was Collin father: Harold Trevor Naptha. And through a portal suddenly came Collin’s mom: May Flower Naptha.

“I knew you could do it.” Collins dad said. “Now you are free to live and adventure in the land of dragons.”
